The historic centre of Naples and the Sanità
The Historic Centre of Naples has been on the UNESCO World Heritage List since 1995, under criteria ii and iv. The listing covers a historic urban area, not a single place with an entrance fee. You walk it street by street, and you pay at individual sites.
The Rione Sanità, home of the Ipogeo dei Cristallini, lies in a valley north of the old city walls. It is a separate district with its own character, so treat the two as neighbours rather than one walk. Our Rione Sanità guide covers the valley, and this page covers the old town.
If you want an expert to link the two, look at Naples underground tours and guided old-town walks in the offers below.

Spaccanapoli, Duomo and San Gregorio Armeno
Spaccanapoli, the Duomo, the Tesoro di San Gennaro and San Gregorio Armeno are among the sights of the old town.
Spaccanapoli
Spaccanapoli is a walk, not a ticketed site, so you can fit it in around your timed bookings.
Duomo and Tesoro di San Gennaro
The cathedral and the treasure of San Gennaro are separate visits. Churches, museums, the treasure chapel and services do not share one free entry that is always open, so check access on the day.
San Gregorio Armeno
A street of the old town. Plan it as a stroll in between your other stops.
Walking time from the Ipogeo depends on your route and stops, so use the metro to reach the centre: Dante and Duomo are on Line 1, Cavour and Montesanto on Line 2.
Our pick: the Sansevero Chapel
The Veiled Christ sits in the historic centre, so this ticket fits a walk along Spaccanapoli.
Hand-picked tours, booked through Viator. Prices are indicative starting prices in euros (as of October 2026). Tap a tour for live availability and the current price in your currency.
Naples historic centre tours
Guided walks through the old town, some with an underground stop, plus food tours and Sansevero Chapel tickets, with live prices and availability.
Via dei Tribunali and the underground stops
Two underground sites lie on Via dei Tribunali. The San Gaetano entrance of Naples Underground is on this street, and the Purgatorio ad Arco complex is at Via Tribunali 39. They have separate monuments and separate tickets, so treat them as two stops. Our Naples Underground guide explains the routes.
San Lorenzo Maggiore with Neapolis Sotterrata, Purgatorio ad Arco and the Ipogeo are further stops with their own operators. Do not assume that a ticket for one gets you into another, unless a combined tour says so in its description.
Cappella Sansevero and the Veiled Christ
The Cristo velato is in the Museo Sansevero complex. A visit includes the chapel, the underground chamber and the sacristy.

A simple order for one day
One way to link the stops without rushing. Move things around to match your tickets.
Morning
Book the timed slot at the Cappella Sansevero first, then walk Spaccanapoli and San Gregorio Armeno.
Midday
Take one underground visit on or near Via dei Tribunali, and keep time for lunch.
Afternoon
Ride the metro to the Sanità for the Ipogeo, which needs its own booking. See Ipogeo dei Cristallini tickets, or choose the Naples Archaeological Museum instead.
