Bourbon Tunnel Naples: the four routes
The Galleria Borbonica is a tunnel under the centre of Naples. On 19 February 1853 Ferdinand II commissioned Errico Alvino to plan a military tunnel from the Royal Palace towards Piazza Vittoria. It was meant as a link and escape route, but it was not completed as a continuous royal passage.
Today you can visit it only on a guided tour. The Standard route is the base programme. Three others go further: Via delle Memorie, Avventura and Speleo Light. The Galleria is a separate site from Naples Underground at Piazza San Gaetano, with its own operator and tickets.
Our picks: Bourbon Tunnel tours
All three cover the Galleria Borbonica with a guide. The first lets you choose the Via delle Memorie route, the second is the standard one-hour route, and the third meets on the Piazza del Plebiscito side.
